Restaurant/places to eat in Kyoto Century Hotel
1) Good breakfast with many varieties of food, desert, yogurt, fruits and ice cream. The salad bar is excellent. Perhaps, the followings could be added in the future: a) make-to-order omelets, b) change the menu/add certain items on certain days of the week. 2) Rooms were spacious and clean. The bathrooms were spacious with standing shower section and bathtub. Water pressure was strong with functional temperature control. Abundance of daily fresh towels were supplied. 3) Toiletries were provided. 4) Excellent customer service at the front desk. 5) The hotel is a few minutes walk from the Kyoto Station - Central Gate (Exit 5). However, though the hotel is a short distance from the Kyoto Station - Central Gate, with respect to the subway/metro lines, it's a longer walk from the Shinkansen (bullet train) station, which is on the opposite side of the subway/metro.

What a great hotel! It is right next to the train station which made it easy to enjoy Kyoto and surrounding areas. I expected noise due to the location. I could see trains from my 10th floor room, but it was perfectly silent. I also loved the size of the room. It was huge, even by US standards. The bed was bigger than a king! This was the nicest & largest room of any of the hotels we visited during our vacation. If I ever return, I will stay there again. I actually wish I had stayed there for 3 weeks and just taken day trips. I also loved the hotel staff. They were guest oriented and worked to meet all our needs. I felt like they really cared about us! Finally, I loved having free bottled water. It was so nice to just ask for more water when we needed it. This saved us a bunch of $$$ during our stay.

The location is stellar. Being right across from Kyoto Station made it so easy to get anywhere, whether it be by bus or local train, or bullet train to other cities. The hotel was also beautiful, with an elegant atrium hosting the lobby and nice, clean, spacious rooms. We stayed in a Superior Twin and had plenty of space for us and our luggage. The hotel staff was very nice, greeting us every time we entered, and asking if there was anything we needed, arranging spa services at the sister hotel next door, arranging luggage transport, and replacing a lost breakfast coupon free of charge. We were there for a total of seven nights and everything was top-notch the entire time.

They had a great breakfast buffet with everything from drinks to hot and cold plates, both eastern and western to deserts and more. One of the best breakfast buffets I've ever seen. Their dinner buffet was expensive but also came with an ice cream bar. They also had a great bathroom setup with a separate wet room (whole room is a shower with a tub to one side) and separate sink / mirror and fancy electronic toilets with bidets. (Worth it). The location is great right next to the Kyoto Train station which is more like a massive Mall (most underground) / Transportation hub. Lots of stuff in walking distance and the tour busses pick up down the block.

We loved our stay - gorgeous room with some small gifts when we arrived on our honeymoon. Perfect location for us in kyoto next to the station as we were also doing day trips to nara and osaka. Slightly further from gion but easy to access by bus or taxi. Plenty of good restaurants and konbinis nearby. The room felt very calm and beautiful. Loved having a separate tatami mat area and dressing table/mirror. All the amenities we needed and comfy pajamas in the room. We also used the in room massage which was good value
